Dr. Emrah Arslan was born on November 7, 1967 in Ankara. He graduated from Çorum Gazipaşa Primary School and Samsun Anadolu High School. He completed his university education in Ankara University Faculty of Medicine between 1986 and 1992. He started to work as a urology assistant in Ankara Numune Hospital Urology Clinic in the year he graduated from the university. One year later, he passed the examination and started his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine. Six years later, he became a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in 1999. After working short period at Adana Başkent University and Kocaeli State Hospital, he started to work as an Assistant Professor in 2000 at Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of Mersin University Faculty of Medicine. During the period between 2003 and 2004 he worked on microsurgery at Cleveland Clinic in the United States for more than a year.
He was part of the team to perform first experimental face transplantation in animals in the world. He also worked on nerve injuries, bone transplantation, blood transplantation, microcirculation, and treatment of skull injuries.
In 2005, he passed the examination and got the title of Associate Professor of Medicine in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
Since 2009, he has been working at Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Medicine. He received the title of Professor in 2010.
The topics attracting his interest most in Plastic Surgery are; rhinoplasty, face aesthetics, eyelid surgery, body contouring, breast surgery, cleft lip and palate. He has numerous scientific articles and congress presentations on these subjects.
