Our International Patients  Team (IPT) is dedicated entirely to provide international patients with a comprehensive service covering every aspect from the initial inquiry through to their return back home. Furthermore, a multilingual team will be available to assist and interpret throughout your medical consultations.

International patient  inquiries are responded to within a 24 to 48 hour time frame.

Medical Opinion Inquiry & Appointments

Submit your personal information and medical records on our Consultancy Forms page. We will consult our physicians and revert to you with a suitable treatment plan, cost estimations and duration of stay in Mersin. An IPT representative will be in touch with you within 24 hours of your initial inquiry.

Alternatively, you can also directly request an appointment with our physicians via mail (info@ortadogumc.com).

Your medical appointments will be scheduled according to your confirmations.

Accomodation & Airport Transfers

An IPT representative can assist you with accommodation reservations at preferential corporate rates at nearby hotels or short-term stay apartments based on your preferences. We will arrange complementary airport-hotel-hospital transfers in line with your travel and medical appointment arrangements.

Medical Treatment

All medical treatments are performed at our state-of-the-art facilities equipped with the latest technology and equipment, by our internationally-trained surgeons, doctors, nurses and medical experts.

You will receive a complete medical file once your treatment is finished as well as be informed of necessary follow up requirements. Medical reports will be provided in English.

Duration Of Your Stay

The duration of your stay in Mersin will depend on the nature of your treatment. You may or may not require ICU and/or inpatient hospitalization care.

Nurses, pharmacists, imaging and lab technicians must undergo schooling and pass certification exams to obtain licenses to practice at OMC. Nurses are re-certified at 5-year intervals. Those with special responsibilities, notably ICU nurses, must receive special training and be certified as competent in the specific area of expertise.

What does the International Patients Team (IPT) charge?

The International Patients  Team (IPT) does not charge any fees. Medical Opinions and accommodation assistance are free-of-charge. Additionally, we provide complementary interpreter and transfer services during your stay in Mersin.

Who will be dealing with the details of my case during my stay?

Ortadogu Medical Center’s International Patients Team (IPT) will take care of all details relating to your visit as well as successful return back home and follow up requirements.

Will I need any travel documents?

The exact requirements depend on your country of citizenship, however in general entry to Turkey is fairly straightforward. The International Patients Team can inform and assist you with visa procedures.

What about treatment quality?

Majority of physicians speak fluent English and the International Patients Team will provide you with native speaking interpreters to escort and assist you during your treatment.

Can I know the doctors’ credentials?

We can provide you the doctor’s professional credentials on request.

Do I need to tell my doctor at home?

You are not required to tell your doctor at home. However, we strongly recommend that you discuss your thoughts of having a medical procedure abroad with your general practitioner. Furthermore, we can establish correspondence between your doctor and treating doctor at OMC for a comprehensive exchange of medical information.

If I’m taking family member(s), when can they travel?

Family members or companions can travel with you.

Where Do I stay?

The International Patients Team will recommend you suitable accommodation according to your budget and comfort request, as well as advise you on ideal locations. Reservations will be confirmed before your travels.

How do I get to the hospital?

The International Patients Team will arrange all your transfers (airport arrival/departure-hotel-hospital).

What is included in the cost of care?

A detailed overview of what is included is listed in every price quotation. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Can I have more than one medical procedure at the same time?

It is possible and cost-effective to have more than one procedure at the same time, however this must be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine a suitable treatment plan.

What is not included in the cost for treatment?

Any drugs prescribed to the patient after being discharged from the hospital. Any care or service related to any complications which may arise and are not defined in the patient’s initial treatment.

Any service or care relating to major complications arising during the patient’s operation, including but not limited to the patient’s need of transfer into an Internal or External Specialized Intensive Care Unit. Any resulting extended hospitalization (ICU or ward) during treatment.

Additional costs in such events will be invoiced to the patient in accordance with the OMC’s standard charges prevailing at the time.

Does OMC arrange for local tours or sightseeing trips in Turkey?

OMC’s International Patients Team can make arrangements for you and your family.
