Nowadays, hair loss which is frequently encountered in one in every three men and in women has become a big problem for people. Hair loss can be caused by many reasons, or people may have a tendency to have hair loss. In general, there are many methods developed to eliminate hair loss. However, the most effective solution of these methods provides hair transplantation. When hair transplantation is applied successfully, it is a permanent solution.
Hair Loss and Hair Transplantation
Hair strands come out from the hair follicles we call grafts. 1 to 4 pieces of hair is removed from the graft. Hair follicles are fed by capillaries in their environment. Hair follicles that come from hair follicles that are fed sufficiently have a healthy and strong appearance. When they cannot feed, they are weakened. In the normal hair cycle, the hair has a prolonged elongation. After a long time, they are weakened and shed. Then a new hair from the same root is removed and this cycle continues. Our hair that we have lost during the day is our hair strands that complete the cycle and will be replaced by new ones. 100 hair loss per day is considered normal. However, more than this, the attention has reached a remarkable level and the spills that cause opening in certain areas give the signals of a problem. Hair loss may be due to many reasons such as stress, sadness, hereditary (racial-male type hair loss), pregnancy and birth, misuse or malnutrition. At the same time, the person may be caught in a disease that causes hair loss, such as a ringworm. In such cases, the treatment methods applied without consulting a specialist may cause you to waste your time and money. Because all types of hair loss can be applied for different methods. The most effective and permanent method of removing hair loss is hair transplantation.
How is hair transplantation applied?
Hair transplantation is a medical operation which consists of certain stages and must be performed by the specialist doctor and his team in sterile operating rooms. Before this procedure, the doctor performs hair analysis to the patient and makes the calculation of the graft (hair follicle) necessary for the patient to reach the natural hair appearance. Then, in a detailed interview with the patient, he asks specific questions to decide whether the patient is suitable for the operation. At this stage, the doctor may also require some tests from the patient. Approving the patient’s compliance with the operation and the number of grafts needed makes more analyzes in the patient to determine the donor area. The donor area is the area where the grafts are to be transplanted. In general, the patient’s neck is used as a donor. In men, the chest area, beard area and legs can be evaluated as donor area.
At the beginning of the operation, the patient is prevented from suffering from local anesthesia. In order to create a comfortable working environment in the donor area, shaving is performed and the grafts are carefully removed individually. The frequency of grafting is of great importance. Grafting very close to one another may cause opening of the donor site. Therefore, the specialist should carefully adjust the appropriate frequency at this stage.
The grafts collected are arranged in rows of 100leme in a special plane. At the same time, the extraction process is performed and healthy hair roots are selected. When the grafting process is completed, the front hairline is determined according to the patient’s facial expression and natural appearance. At this stage, patient’s approval is also applied. Then the grafts will be planted in the area where the grafts will be planted. Its frequency is very important in terms of success rate of sowing. The grafts that are opened to the opened canals are transported and when the process is finished, the donor area and the sowing area are closed with sterile dressings. The patient is discharged on the same day.
What happens after hair transplantation?
The next day of hair transplantation, the patient is invited to the center. The dressings are opened and the dressing is closed again. On the 3rd day, the patient comes back to the hair transplantation center, the dressings are opened again and the dressing is done. Then the operational zone is not closed again, it remains open.
On the day of the last visit of the patient to the center (day 3), the patient makes an interview with the specialist physician about the postoperative period. In this interview, the patient tells how to care for new hair follicles and how to wash them. At the same time, he explains how to stay away from hair transplantation and what conditions he needs to fulfill in order for the operation to be successful.
Within 10 days after hair transplantation, hair outlets are seen from newly sown grafts, but all of the hair in the sowing area is poured up to 1 month. This is expected. After this shedding will not extend hair shedding. Hair growth from the entire hair follicles can take up to 6 months in total. Because the graft adhesion, healing and growth times may be different. Between 6 months and 1 year, the patient will now have full hair. It is not possible to re-cast the hair.
